In the acidic stomach environment, I3C is converted into derivative compounds shown to neutralize free radicals, promote proper detoxification, and support healthy cell cycle regulation. DIM (diindolemethane) is a well-known I3C derivative. In addition, studies have shown that I3C supplementation can help maintain a healthy endocrine response in both men and women. Although I3C is normally very unstable, NOW® Indole-3-Carbinol is packaged and laboratory tested to ensure potency during its shelf life.

Vitamin B-6 (pyridoxine) acts primarily as an enzyme catalyst in many body processes including energy metabolism and neurotransmitter function. Before it can be used for this purpose it must be converted into its coenzyme form Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate (P-5-P) by the liver.
